Tomorrow is the big day. Not only is it the debut of my first paranormal story in the Soul Hunters series, my second book in the series will also be available! I'm having so much fun writing this series that I haven't been working on anything else. Book three in the series will be close behind! Be sure to pick them up on Amazon starting tomorrow.
Monsters lurk in the shadows. Evil comes out to play at night. Your worst nightmares are real. All of the ghost stories and supernatural tales you read to yourself as a child are true. You have every reason to be scared, you just don’t know it because you can’t see it. You don’t have the gift. I do.
Forces of darkness are at work, doing their very best to destroy all that is good in the world. I should know- they nearly destroyed me. My family was slaughtered, killed by the creatures we spent our lives hunting. I would have been killed, too, if it wasn’t for a mysterious man that appeared out of nowhere and saved me, then vanished just as quickly.
I owe him my life. I also blame him for it.
It’s been two years since that night, but it feels like yesterday. I can still hear their screams and see the blood pooled beneath their bodies. And I can still see the piercing blue eyes of the man that saved me and feel his warm, strong arms wrapped around me as he carried me to safety.
I don’t expect to ever see him again. But then again, life has a way of surprising you, of kicking you in the ass right when you least expect it.
Dark Souls is the first book in the Soul Hunters Series. It is 20,000 words/80 pages long.
Ever since getting rid of cable, I've been getting sucked into television show marathons on Netflix. In addition to catching up on the most recent seasons of current shows, I've also been visiting some old favorites. After watching the first couple of seasons of Buffy, I started to remember just how much I enjoy a good "monster of the week" show, with an overarching season-long plot. Same thing with more recent shows like Supernatural.
Anyway, as I've been watching, I've started developing a story line in my head that I simply have to put onto paper. The general idea is a series made up of short books (80-100 pages.) In the serial style, each book has it's own conflict that gets resolved by the end of the book, with an overarching conflict that will be resolved at the end of the serial. It's not an original idea- lots of people are doing it these days. But it's new to me. Hopefully other people will enjoy the story I'm working on because I'm having a blast writing it.
I'll keep you posted as it progresses.
